We are planning on visiting WDW in dec of 2014 but are staying off property at family's house. If magic bands are in use by then, will we still be able to use fast pass+ and select our fast passes online before our arrival?

    Hi Connie!

You are one lucky lady to have family who live in the Walt Disney World area.  I bet you visit them as often as possible, don't you?  I know I would!

I have great news about FastPass+.  As of March 31st, Guests who are not staying at a Walt Disney World resort hotel have the ability to make FastPass+ selections up to 30 days in advance.  To do this you will need to have a My Disney Experience Account and link park tickets to it.  You may log into your My Disney Experience account either via the website or the mobile app.

Magic Bands will be available for purchase if you like, but they are not necessary in order to register for My Disney Experience or to pre-select FastPass+.  You may use your RFID park tickets to enter the theme parks and redeem your FastPass+ selections if you choose.

I hope you are as excited about this new development with the My Magic+ testing as I am.  Please come back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel if you have any more vacation planning questions.  We love to help!

Meet the Panelist: Brenda, Missouri

I fell in love with Walt Disney World on my very first visit, which took place during my honeymoon. Since then we have added 4 "mouseketeers" to our family and have come to appreciate what a great value a Walt Disney World vacation can be on a budget. As a Physical Therapist and a mom of a large family, I would love to help you plan your next magical trip! Learn More About Brenda
