Hi, planning on visiting WDW for 4 days before catching 5 night Disney Cruise, looking at POR and Pop Century, what do you recommend? We have a rental car so buses are not a factor, also which building do I want to request that is close to food & pool?

    Hi Shelley!

You really can't go wrong with either resort (Port Orleans-French Quarter or Riverside, or Pop Century). I think it would primarily come to cost and amenities. Port Orleans is considered a moderate resort, which costs more than Pop Century (a Value resort), and usually comes with extra amenities (a few more restaurants, extra pools, scenic resort views, etc.). But Pop Century (which I've stayed a few times) is also nice, very kid-friendly, and keeps an extra few dollars in your wallet. If you want to splurge on the cruise and not so much with your Disney World lodging, go with Pop Century. Otherwise, I'd take either of the Port Orleans settings.

If you stay at Port Orleans-French Quarter, Buildings 3 (South Quarter) and 4 (North Quarter) are near the food area, bus station, and gift shop.

If you stay at Port Orleans-Riverside, Buildings 14 and 15 (Alligator Bayou) and 90 and 95 (Magnolia Bend) are close to the food area.

If you stay at Pop Century, buildings in the 50's, 60's and 70's block are closest to the food court. As for pool areas, the 50's, 60's and 90's building blocks are near pools.

Have a great time with all your Disney travel plans!
