    Oriana from MI Asked

Hi! I am planning on visiting in January with my 2 year old I was just wondering if he would need a magic band as well for things like fastpass+ also is it better to just use the card or purchase the bands if you are not staying on property?

Hi, Oriana! I am a huge fan of MagicBands. With a flick of my wrist, I am instantly connected to my theme park tickets and FastPass+ selections. I find its armband design to be much easier to keep track of than the ticket cards, but be assured that the ticket cards can be used in much the same way. I know a few friends who do not like wearing anything on their wrist, so the updated MagiBand 2 designs are a welcome addition to the MyMagic+ family for them.

When visiting a Walt Disney World Resort theme park, only Guests age three and above are required to have a theme park ticket. Since your son is only two years old, you will not need to purchase a ticket for him and he, in turn, will not need his own FastPass+ selections. He is welcome to tag along with the rest of the family as they use their FastPass+ selections, provided he meets the height requirements. Be sure to check out Rider Switch If you plan to experience attractions that are a bit too big for him.

At this time, only Guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel are provided with complimentary MagicBands. You may, however, still make use of this technology by purchasing one through the Disney Store, Shop Disney Parks app, or at many merchandise locations at the Resort. You may link your new MagicBand to your My Disney Experience account or, if you prefer, have a Cast Member assist you with this at Guest Relations.
