We are planning on visiting Downtown Disney on our next trip. We have never visited this part of Disney in past trips. How much time will I need to do Disney Quest and a few other attractions in this area?

Hi Sandra!  Downtown Disney is a great place to spend some time.  How much time will depend on the ages of the family members and their interests.

Disney Quest is several levels of arcade and interactive fun.  You can easily spend a day there if you wanted to enjoy each and every activity at least once.  There are spots for lunch inside so you never have to leave the magic to face reality outside!  I suggest you enter with a time limit for the family that will allow each to choose the activities they are most interested in.  We often give ourselves about three hours to do this.

Beyond Disney Quest you will find some great shops.  Just walking from one to the other can take anywhere from one to two hours depending on how much actual buying you plan to do. Even if you go with the idea of not buying they are worth walking through to see all the different things that are offered.  Kids will love the shops such as Lego Land where they can stand outside and build to their hearts desire Lego structures.  And don't forget to stop to look at the professionally built Lego animals along side the path.  My favorite is tucked next to the building and is a dog walker walking various breeds of dogs.  I have a bulldog that looks just like the Lego one!

The young children enjoy the carrousel and the small train ride located among the shops.  OFten there will be entertainment going on at the waterside theater.  There are a ton of great dining locations scattered through-out this area and if you have time to end a day head back to Cirque Du Soleil for an unbelievable show in the evening.

We usually plan for a half to three quarters of a day at Downtown Disney but even just a couple of hours is worth the trip!
