Are planning to visit WDW next Jan. flight arrives Sat 23 at 5pm. Would like to make a DR at Chef M for that night but worried about time and transports. We are staying at POR, will we have time to check in at the resort, take the bus and make a 7:30 Res?

    Norma:

I have to tell you that I'd be a little nervous cutting it that close....

I always give myself at least 1 1/2 to 2 hours from the time my plane lands to walk to Magical Express (on the lowest level and to the far end), wait in line for the bus and then take the 35-minute bus ride to the resort and check in....not to mention the fact that Port Orleans: Riverside is the last bus stop for Magical Express after dropping off at Saratoga Springs, Old Key West and Port Orleans: French Quarter....so add on an extra 15 minutes at least.

If I were you and you saw that you were cutting it close, I'd relieve my mind and consider taking a cab from Port Orleans over to the Contemporary for dinner if you weren't at resort check-in by 6:45 p.m.  Port Orleans is a large resort, and it's not worth the worry over getting to your room and back out to the bus stop for Magic Kingdom for the 5-minute walk to the Contemporary and Chef Mickey's!

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
