We are planning to visit WDW Aug. 3-Aug. 11, 2012. 2 adults, 1 teenager over 6' tall and a 9 year old girl. We are concerned the All Star Resort will be too small bed wise. Our next choice is Port Orleans Resort. What do you suggest?

    Hi Jeanne!

How exciting that you're planning at visit to Walt Disney World in August!

If bed size concerns you and your budget will allow, I'd definitely recommend that you opt for the Moderate level Port Orleans Riverside or Port Orleans French Quarter Resort. French Quarter's accommodations have been fully renovated and are now equipped with queen size beds in their accommodations whereas the standard rooms in the Value level resorts are equipped with doubles. Riverside is still in the process of being upgraded to queens from doubles, though many buildings have already had the upgrade completed.

If you opt for Port Orleans Riverside, you would have the additional option to requesting a 'Riverside' room in the Bayou section that sleeps 5 guests so that your teen would have their own double or queen bed and your 9 year old would also have her own, smaller pull-down bed just for her! Alternatively, the new Royal Rooms at Riverside or standard rooms at French Quarter are equipped with 2 queen beds per room.

You'll LOVE the ambiance and amenities of both Port Orleans resorts and the added convenience of the boat to Downtown Disney and great, recreational amenities offered. Take a look at both resorts' pages to decide which theme and amenities best suit your family!

I hope you'll visit again with more questions. I'd love to help you plan your perfect Walt Disney World vacation Jeanne!

Wishing you a Magical time as you make your important, vacation planning decisions!
