We are planning to visit Magic Kingdom and will have a rental car. It seems from what I have read that It will take some time to reach the gate from the parking area. How much time should we allow for parking and travel to the gate to get there in the AM

Hi, Theresa! I love seeing that you're already plotting out your day at Magic Kingdom Park. It's smart to plan ahead, and it's essential to arrive on time so as not to miss any important FastPass+ reservations!

The Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) serves as the parking lot for the Magic Kingdom Park, and it's also the hub for the "Highway in the Sky," also known as the Monorail. First, you'll want to allow a few minutes to pay for parking and to take the tram to the monorail station. If being close is a priority, consider a Preferred Parking spot in the Jafar section of the lot. The ride to the Magic Kingdom will take about 25 minutes via the monorail (most of which is waiting to board), but make sure to take the Express Monorail (not the Resort), which is the more direct route. Taking the ferry to the Park from the TTC is another option- it's slower, but at certain times of the day, it's in less demand. Once you get there, I'd budget 15 minutes to get through bag check and the turnstiles.

By the way, Theresa, did you know that Mickey is celebrating his 90th birthday through September 30 this yEAR? After you've rope dropped Seven Dwarfs Mine Train or Space Mountain, head to the Town Square Theater so you can get a selfie with Mickey and Minnie in their birthday finery! Afterward, stop by Aloha Isle for one of the new Hei Hei Cones. I'd say they're delicious, but my 10-year-old wasn't willing to share more than one bite!
