We are planning to visit during the first week of February. We would be in the parks on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. On the 6th and 7th, DW is hosting a huge cheerleading competition. Should I worry about huge crowds coming to the parks in the days before?

    Hello Amanda,

Thanks for visiting with your question. I love visiting Walt Disney World Resort during seasons when crowds are a bit lower and I think you have chosen a really great week! Attendance is steadily increasing even in the so-called "down" times, but early-February should still be comparatively light on the crowds due to school schedules.

My opinion is that the cheerleading crowds shouldn't interfere too much with your dates, but it's always a good idea to have a loose daily schedule to follow and make your FastPass+ selections for each day in advance. Having a plan for the day saves a lot of time when you may feel overwhelmed with choices and if you build in a few options, you can still be spontaneous and make some changes on the fly.

If you are staying in a Disney Resort Hotel and you have purchased your tickets, you should be able to make your FastPass+ selections now, so I would do that as soon as possible if you haven't already. If you plan to stay elsewhere, you may choose your selections 30 days in advance.

Wishing you a fantastic vacation, Amanda. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Happy planning!
