Hello, we are planning to visit Disneyland mid October and we have a 1 and a 5 year old. Any advice on an itinerary we should follow. Or anything that will help our trip be more enjoyable? Any suggestion help. Thank you!

Greetings, Adriana, and thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I’m so excited for your upcoming visit to the Happiest Place on Earth… it will be here before you know it!

First off, I’d recommend downloading the Disneyland app – it’s a great handy helper to use within the parks to find favorite Characters, check wait times, make dining reservations, utilize Disney MaxPass and PhotoPass, and even mobile order food and drinks! Mobile ordering is such a convenient option, especially for parents of little Mouseketeers!

As for an itinerary, I’d recommend getting started by checking out this handy Planning Guide for Preschool Kids and Little Ones. There’s even an adorable toddler-friendly attraction map you can download and print! I highly recommend getting an early start and arriving at the Main Entrance gates about 40-60 minutes prior to opening for rope drop. You’ll be able to check off several of your “must-do” attractions during the first two hours of park opening!

In Disneyland Park, I’d recommend heading to Fantasyland first for Peter Pan’s Flight. My little ones also love Casey Jr. Circus Train, King Arthur Carrousel, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, and Mad Tea Party. Next, I’d head over to “it’s a small world,” and a showing of Mickey and the Magical Map before entering Mickey’s Toontown. Toontown is a fun spot for toddlers to get their wiggles out and meet favorite Characters in their homes, including Mickey and Minnie’s Houses, Donald’s Boat, and Goofy’s Playhouse. If you have any princess-loving Mouseketeers, I recommend stopping by Royal Hall for a visit with three Disney Princesses!

In Disney California Adventure Park, my children love dancing along to Disney Junior Dance Party! The show features Vampirina, Doc McStuffins, and even Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Other favorite stops include The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure, Golden Zephyr, Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind, and Jessie’s Critter Carousel. Fun family experiences include Mickey’s PhilharMagic and Turtle Talk with Crush.

Also, take advantage of the two Baby Care Centers (one in each theme park) for a great spot to change or feed your baby, or purchase baby necessities.

My best piece of advice is to take time for the magical moments, like Character Experiences. You and your little ones will treasure those special hugs forever!

Wishing you a magical adventure at the Disneyland Resort this October!

Meet the Panelist: Kristin, California

Hello from sunny California! I currently live less than an hour from the Disneyland Resort, and have been an Annual Passholder for about 20 years! As a mom of three kids under the age of 7, I consider myself an expert at navigating the Disneyland Resort with little ones. My family of five can’t get enough of the magic and happiness we encounter every time we step foot on Main Street, U.S.A. I look forward to sprinkling pixie dust on your next visit to “The Happiest Place on Earth!”
