Planning visit to Dinseyland. Pros/Cons of each hotel? Have 3 kids (7, 5, 3) who love Disney! One son loves the monorail, does it drop off in a park? Does Disneyland Hotel still do character meet-n-greet in lobby? Thanks!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Jamie. I'm so glad to hear you'll be venturing to the Disneyland Resort soon!

All of the 3 Disneyland Resort hotels have the same benefits: Extra Magic Morning, close proximity to the parks and Downtown Disney, Character wake-up calls, merchandise delivery service, and more. Each hotel offers several dining venues, including unique Character Dining experiences.

There are differences between the 3 Disneyland Resort hotels. You'll find lower room rates for Paradise Pier, typically followed by Disneyland Hotel, and higher rates for Grand Californian Hotel and Spa. Although the special park entrance into California Adventure is located in Grand Californian Hotel and Spa, Guests of all 3 hotels can access this entry by showing their Key to the Magic card (room key) with valid park admission. Rest assured that no matter which hotel you stay at, you will be well taken care of by the dedicated Cast Members.

My family's favorite place to stay is the Disneyland Hotel...it may have to do with the light-up Sleeping Beauty Castle headboard or the dreamy tune it plays. Disneyland Hotel is also a quick walk to the Monorail in Downtown Disney. Your son will love riding the Monorail into Disneyland Park, where you'll be dropped off in Tomorrowland. Be sure to allocate time to enjoy the Monorail water slides. During my recent stay in February, I also enjoyed interacting with Minnie Mouse and Pluto in the Disneyland Hotel lobby.

I hope this information is helpful as you plan your family vacation to the Happiest Place on Earth, Jamie. Please visit me on the Panel again if you have further questions.

    See ya real soon,

Meet the Panelist: Kiki, California

I am a wife and mother to 2 children, a 14 year old daughter and 9 year old son. I have always enjoyed going to Disneyland Resort as a child and now that I am a mother, I love watching my children experience Disneyland Resort through their eyes. It is a true delight seeing my daughter wear a ball gown walking side by side with Cinderella or my son jumping gleefully after he defeated Darth Maul in a light saber duel! Learn More About Kiki
