Planning a vacation for late Feb/early Mar 2010. Grandparents, uncle, husband and me with our 2 kids, then ages 4 & under 2. Thinking of staying in 2 bdrm suite @ Animal Kngdm. Haven't seen much about that resort on panel answers. Thoughts for kids?

    Hi Corinne,

I think you've made a great pick!  I'm a bit biased because I just booked a trip for August in a 2-bedroom at the new Kidani Village at Animal Kingdom Villas myself!  I've actually stayed at the Lodge before in a Savanna-view, and my boys were so happy waking up to the sight of giraffes outside their window, that I promised them we'd be back.  I toured the Villas a few months ago in the main lodge, and was amazed at how big (huge) they are and how absolutely gorgeous.  I'm a big fan of the lodge.  The lobby is magnificent, Uzima pool resembles an African watering hole and both Boma and Jiko are on our "favorites" list.  I haven't seen the new pool or restaurant at Kidani Village, as it isn't scheduled to open until May 2009, but I have no doubt it will be extraordinary.

As for whether Animal Kingdom Lodge (and the Villas) are good for kids, I think the answer is an absolute yes.  The unprecedented access to exotic African wildlife is an experience you won't find anywhere else.  I think it's a great retreat after a busy day in the parks.  Stepping through the lobby doors will leave you feeling like you've traveled to a deluxe African resort.

I think you made a great choice.  Feel free to write back at the end of August, and I'll let you know my thoughts on Kidani Village!
