We are planning our vacation for the last 2 weeks of August 2012, considering Value/Moderate resorts, which is best for a family of 4 (2 Adults, 2 kids Ages 7 & 10) they love pools & best transport? Also best choices for quick service and sit down

    Hi Marianne,

Among the many fabulous value and moderate Disney resorts, I would say that Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is the most centrally located on Walt Disney World property.  It is very close to two (Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios) of Disney's four theme parks so just a few minutes on a resort bus will get you where you want to go quickly.  The location is also great for pool lovers because this resort is located directly between Disney's two water parks, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach.  Again, a very short bus ride will put you right in the middle of the water fun!

As for the best places to eat on property, I wish you and I could sit down over a cup of tea to discuss this at length.  There are so many amazing restaurants at Walt Disney World.  I could talk about them for hours, but I'll spare you the dissertation.  Instead, I'll share my favorites with you.  With regard to quick service meals, check out the Columbia Harbor House in the Magic Kingdom, Flame Tree Barbecue in Disney's Animal Kingdom, the Earl of Sandwich in Downtown Disney, and Yorkshire County Fish Shop or Sommerfest in Epcot.  The Old Port Royale Food Court in Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort would be a tasty and convenient quick service option too.  "Must do" table service restaurants for my family include:  Le Cellier in Epcot's Canada Pavilion, O'hana in Disney's Polynesian Resort, Whispering Canyon in Disney's Wilderness Lodge, and Boma in Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge.  And don't forget to include at least one character meal--perhaps Chef Mickey in Disney's Contemporary Resort!  You can't beat a character dining experience if you want some one-on-one time with Mickey and friends.

I hope this information has been helpful, Marianne.  Don't hesitate to post additional questions if you have any.
