We are planning our vacation for the first week in December 2012. There is 2 adults and one 3 year old boy.The quick service dining plan is very tempting ($), but I know we will want to do at least a couple character dinings. Should we pay extra for those?

    Hi, Dustin!

You are right about any of the Dining Plans...they really help you to save money as well enjoy your trip that much more.

You could certainly book the Quick Service Dining Plan and pay out of pocket for the character meals.  However, have you looked at the "regular" Disney Dining Plan, which is the one which entitles you to one quick service meal, one table service meal and one snack per person, per night of your stay?  Like the Quick Service Plan, his Dining Plan comes with one souvenir resort refillable mug per person as well.  Here' a link to Walt Disney World Dining Plan options, so that you can get a closer look at how they compare to each other.

If you plan on eating in the parks, I highly recommend that you add on one of these two Dining Plans.  By all means, get reservations at character meals for your little one, too!  Go to Walt Disney World's list of character dining to see what your options are there, too.

Please send any additional questions you may have for your upcoming visit!  We love to help!
