Planning our 2nd trip to WDW for 3rd wk of Jan 2013 for POFQ! Would like to arrive the night of 1/12 which is the day before the marathon. How difficult will it be to get around resorts areas and downtown during the marathon events Sat pm and Sun am?

    HI Cassandra!

January is a great time to be at Disney World!  (Of course, I can't think of a BAD time!)

Marathon morning can be a little confusing because of road closures.  However, since you are staying on Disney property, you will be able to use Disney transportation.  The Disney drivers will be well aware of all road closures and will have plans in place to get to where they need to go.  All the parks will be open and runners will be finished by around noon.

The bus ride may take a few minutes longer than normal, but it won't be a big inconvenience.  If you are wanting to drive somewhere, just be sure to get a map and schedule of road closures from your front desk.

Saturday evening shouldn't be any problem.

Let me know if you have any other questions!
