Hello, I am planning a trip to WDW with my wife and two sons. My oldest son is severely asthmatic with allergies to dust mites. Does WDW offer allergy friendly rooms? We are planning to stay at one of the deluxe monorail resorts or the Wilderness Lodge.

Hi Justin, My daughter also is a severe asthmatic and WDW does make special requests for guests who have many different medical needs such as allergies, asthma, guests using oxygen, special requests for handicapped guests, etc... You need to add a special note to your reservation that you do request a room which is specially cleaned for a child with asthma. They will make sure that your room has been cleaned from top to bottom in preparation for your arrival. Last time when I stayed in the Coronado Springs Resort, they had the room steam cleaned and even put an industrial sized humidifier in the room for extra precautions and my daughter didn't have any problems at all. You can also request for them to not use normal cleaning detergents for bed linens, etc...that your son may be triggered by with his asthma (they do have alternatives for cleaning supplies that may suit you better). These requests may make your check-in time a bit later than usual as it does take them longer to clean a room in this way compared to their normal check-in guests, but it is well worth it in my opinion for a stay with no asthma attacks to deal with because of room cleanliness. Hope this helps! Best wishes, Brigitta
