I am planning a trip to WDW in 2016. There will be 10 of us ranging in age from 68 to 3. We are considering late March or late August. Which do you recommend based on hotel cost/deals, park hours, ride closures, Florida weather, flight cost, etc.

    Welcome Amanda,

You have quite a job ahead of you planning a trip for ten, but the Moms Panel is here to help you.  Both of these months have their pros and cons, but for me, I would choose late March, but avoid the two weeks surrounding Easter which falls on March 27, 2016.  You'll head right into the Spring Break crowd which you will want to avoid.  Florida weather in March is a bit more tolerable than in August where it can be extremely hot and humid.

From a park hours perspective, the summer months bring extended hours until midnight or sometimes later, which you may not see in March.  Ride closures can happen at any time, so you'll not lose anything by picking one of these months over the other.  Disney's refurbishment schedule is always subject to change, but I have seen them occur more in the slower winter months.

This year Disney ran both spring and summer specials for vacation packages so you'll be just as likely to nab a deal for either of these months.   As far as the airlines go, you'll need to keep an eye on those fares because their pricing structure is a mystery.

So now that you have a start on your vacation planning, be sure to come back and see us.  We'd love to be a part of planning your magical vacation.
