I am planning a trip to WDW and am pregnant. My Dr feels it will be ok for me to travel but he did recommend renting a motorized scooter to limit my walking. Do you have to reserve those in advance? Do I have to provide any medical documentation to rent?

    Hi Stacy,

I was required to stay off my feet for much of my pregnancies as well, so I understand your situation.

There is no documentation required to rent a wheelchair or ECV at Walt Disney World. The Disney ECVs are rented on a first-come, first-served basis. You can't reserve them in advance. The Disney ECVs can only be used in the parks, they can't be taken out of the park to be used at your resort or Downtown Disney.

For these reasons, many guests choose to rent their mobility devices from one of the numerous independent agencies in the area. Two that are well respected are walkermobility.com and buenavistascooters.com. These agencies typically will deliver and pick up to your hotel. You can use their scooters anywhere, and you can have a reservation giving you guaranteed availability.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know if you have additional questions.
