I am planning our very 1st trip to WDW for 10 people (5 kids and 5 adults) and we don't think we can afford to stay in a Disney Resort. I'm a bit confused, is Disney Transportation only available to hotel guests? Any planning tips for such a large group?

Hi, Mia!  You are going to have one big party in Disney with 10 in your group  . . . it sounds like fun!

With a group as large as yours, you might want to check www.allstarvacationhomes.com.  Some of their rental homes have as many as seven bedrooms, which would mean you could all stay together.  These homes have a full kitchens, so you could save money by enjoying some of your meals right in your home.   I was looking through some of their properties, and you can even choose one with a pool or hot tub!

The downside to staying off property is you would need a car to get to the Disney parks, and parking is $12 a day (subject to change) if you are not a Disney Resort guest.  Once at Disney, transportation around the property is free.  You can travel via bus, monorail, or boat to get to wherever you need to be!

If you are still debating between staying on or off property, check HERE to see if there are any special promotions that Disney is offering that sound good to you.  Depending on dates, there are rooms with rates as low as $49 per night, and this would include your transportation to and from Orlando airport.

I often travel with my parents and my brother and his family, which is a total of 10 of us, so I know this can be a challenge!  I mark my calendar for the 90 booking window for Advance Dining Reservations so I can get our dining arranged.  Before our trip, I give everyone a copy of our dining plans, and a tentative schedule of park days, and mark the park hours and parade times.   One thing I have learned is that there will be times when the group splits up to do different activities, then we try to reconnect at dinner time.  Make a plan, but be flexible, as plans do tend to change!

    Have fun planning your vacation!
