We are planning a trip to WDW in Oct 2018 for our 3 year old daughter and will be there for 5 full days. How many parks do you recommend so that it won’t be too overwhelming?

    Hi, there!

Oh Christine, you are going to have the very best time with your little princess this October. Watching her experience the magic of the Walt Disney World Resort is going to melt your heart! It's my pleasure to help you plan an unforgettable visit.

Having traveled to Walt Disney World Resort with my kiddos as infants, toddlers, preschoolers and now elementary-aged students, I can tell you that one of my best pieces of advice is to take it easy on arrival day. We're always eager to begin an adventure in the theme parks, but traveling from Pennsylvania to Florida is adventure enough for one day! We use our arrival day to explore our Resort hotel, enjoy the pool, and visit our favorite mouse at Chef Mickey's for dinner. After a good night's rest, we're ready to go!

When you're taking a little one to Walt Disney World Resort, I recommend allotting two days for Magic Kingdom Park; one day to experience all you can, and a second to revisit favorites. You won't want to miss visiting any of the other theme parks, though! To avoid being overwhelmed, make it a point to take an afternoon break. My family has kept the same Disney routine since our boys were babies - we leave the theme park shortly after lunch and head back to our Resort hotel. We spend the afternoon swimming and napping, and after everyone has rested, we head back to the theme parks in the evening!

I suggest you plan for a restful arrival day, followed by a day at Magic Kingdom Park, a day at each of the other theme parks, and a revisit to Magic Kingdom Park on your last day. With a long afternoon break each afternoon, your family will be able to experience all the theme parks without being overwhelmed!

     Thanks for stopping by, Christine!
