We are planning a trip to WDW this May and can not decide between the dates of May 15 - 20 or May 26 - 31. Is there a big difference between those dates in the size of the crowds?

    Hi Glenn!

Hello to a fellow Louisianian!  We almost always visit Disney World during the last week of May - we are so lucky to get out of school a week before the rest of the nation.  That being said, if you are not worried about school's calendar's, then hands down, your first week will be less crowded.

I checked out some crowd calendars that look at everything from historical crowds to weather to special events.  The week of May 15-20 has crowd levels of 2 to 5, with one being the least crowded.  In sharp contrast, the week of May 26-31 has crowd levels of 7-9.  The second busier week falls during Memorial Day AND Star Wars Weekend, which explains the jump in crowd levels.

If you do choose the second week, be sure to say hi if you see me!!!!

    Much pixie dust,
