Planning our 2020 trip to WDW! Looking at April and Easter falls on the 12th. Would you say the leading up to Easter or the week after Easter would be better for crowds?

Hi, Wendy! I have also been scoping out next April, as my daughter's band will be marching right down the middle of Main Street, U.S.A.! They are planning this for Easter week, so I kept a close eye on spring break crowds this year. Oh my goodness, I can tell you right now that I will be planning some strategic FastPass+ selections! I recommend you do the same, no matter which week you choose. FastPass+ can help you get to your favorite attractions with less wait, leaving you more time for the magic. Keep in mind that staying at a Walt Disney World Resort will give you the ability to make your FastPass+ selections up to 60 days in advance of your check-in date. All other guests make theirs 30 days in advance of each day they plan to visit a theme park. If you have any FastPass+ questions or need some advice on ones to choose, feel free to stop by again and we will be happy to help!

School systems use a wide range of weeks between March and April to schedule their spring breaks, so that tends to spread out the crowds during those months. In my experience, though, I do think it seems like most of them favor the week before Easter. Our schools use the week before Easter and I always told my daughters they would never be able to talk me into a spring break Disney trip. Oh well! A band mom has to to do what a band mom does, so here we go! Considering your two choices of the week before or after Easter, I would maybe choose the week after and just know that the beginning of the week may still be a bit ... boisterous! As I said earlier, make sure you get those FastPass+ selections in when you are able and arrive early to the theme parks, well before they even plan to open. This will put you ahead of the largest crowds as you head straight for your must-do attractions. Take advantage of any Early Morning Magic or Disney After Hours events that may be scheduled, as well as Extra Magic Hours if you are staying at a Resort hotel.

I hope these tips put an extra spring in your Easter plans for next year! Please let us know if you have any other questions!
