Hello, We are planning our trip to WDW in late November. We have 2 boys (2 & 5 yr old boy celebrating his birthday). We are thinking of staying at the WDW Dolphin or Swan hotel. How can we access the Monorail? Do they offer birthday breakfast?

Hi Joyce! So glad to be able to help you with your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation!

The Swan and Dolphin hotels are located in the area near the Boardwalk. They are both within walking distance to Epcot and Hollywood Studios parks so the location is very positive. Please note that although you might find some good deals at these hotels they will not be included on Disney Dining Plans or allow you to use the Magical Express transportation to and from the airport. They also charge a hefty fee to park daily and will add a resort fee per day so the good deal might not end up being as good as it sounds.

The monorail is not accessible from either of these hotels and the closest location to hop on one would be at the front of the Epcot park. You would only be able to do this during park hours and would enter Epcot at the International Gateway and walk the distance to the front which would be lengthy just to hop on a monorail. The route would take you to the Transportation and Ticket Center where you could then transfer to a resort monorail that goes around the loop by the Magic Kingdom and stops at the resorts located on the loop....Polynesian, Grand Floridian, and Contemporary. It also stops at the Magic Kingdom park.

There are several character breakfasts offered on property but there isn't a specific birthday breakfast. The characters will always make a big deal for those guests who are celebrating a special occasion and you can add a small cake no matter what meal it is. My favorite breakfast character dining includes Chef Mickey, Tusker House, and Cape May.

Let me know if you have more questions about planning your trip!
