Mom and Child wearing Magic Bands

We are planning a trip to WDW in June 2017. We are staying off site. My question is...is it worth getting magicbands for my family to use? I see we can buy them from Disney and link them to our tickets, but I am not sure if it is worth it or not.

    Hi Jo Anna!

Great question! The answer depends on you. While it is not required if you are staying off-site, it is a convenient and fun thing to have. When staying off-site, the only use you would have for the MagicBand would be to link your park tickets and FastPass + selections. You could purchase a MagicBand online at www.disneystore.com, via the Shop Disney Parks App on your mobile device or at one of the many shops located in the theme parks or Disney Springs. The advantage to purchasing them in advance is that you can link them to your My Disney Experience Account and have them set up and ready to go when you arrive at the parks. If you purchase your park tickets in advance, you can link those as well to your My Disney Experience Account and simply bypass the ticket windows and head over to the entrance gates with your MagicBands.

Did you know?: Guests have the option to create and personalize MagicBands at Walt Disney World Resort. The MagicBand on Demand stations are located inside the Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. location near Space Mountain in Magic Kingdom. These can also be purchased at the D-Tech on Demand boutique at the Marketplace Co-Op in Disney Springs Marketplace or Star Wars Launch Bay in Disney's Hollywood Studios. To view some of the artwork options, please visit: Retail MagicBand on Demand.

It has been a pleasure assisting you Jo Anna! Please feel free to send me any additional questions.
