Planning a trip to WDW for Jan 2012 :) My husband will be recovering from hernia surgery and we are traveling with our 1 & 2 y/o. Will a cast member be able to help me get them on the rides? Hubby won't be able to lift either or stand long for that mat

Welcome to the Moms Panel Adina!

Your trip is just around the corner & I'm glad to see you are planning ahead.

Cast Members (CMs) are not allowed to physically lift guests to assist them when boarding or getting off rides so you may want to discuss that with the members of your family & get a plan of action. For those attractions that board from a moving sidewalk, the CMs can stop the ride to allow your family to assist your husband.  Don't feel rushed if it takes him a little longer to board attractions.  Safety is the biggest priority so he can take his time.

If your husband starts to become too fatigued, he may want to consider renting a wheelchair or ECV.  Both are available for rent at each of the four theme parks. They are limited & depending on what time of year you are traveling, they may run out early. Advanced reservations are not accepted - they are rented on a first come basis. For rental locations and rental fees, click here

There are some attractions that allow Guests to remain in their wheelchairs & ECVs while others require Guests to transfer in order to board the attraction. You can find a list on the Guests with Mobility Disabilities section.

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison
