Hi, Planning a trip to WDW for first time with our 3 and 4 year olds this summer. We have the DDP and have scheduled mostly buffet style. How long does Disney "allow" for you to eat your meal? Same for character meals? Thanks

    Hi Wendy,

Walt Disney World restaurants are just like your hometown eateries in that you can linger as long as you like. Of course, if you're still sitting inside Crystal Palace when it changes from breakfast to lunch, you may be nudged by a friendly Cast Member that it's time to move along!

Even when we dined with a young child, most of our buffet meals never took longer than an hour once we were seated at our table. This will allow you enough time to enjoy your meal as well as meet and greet with each character. Definitely wait for each character to circulate to your table before departing.

In between trips to the buffet, watch to see which characters are headed towards your table. You'll see a pattern of which tables they visit and be able to calculate if you have time to run up for another plateful or if you should hold off until after meeting the next character. It sounds complicated but it's very simple.

Character meals are highly organized and very efficient so don't worry one bit about enjoying your experience.
