We are planning on a trip to Walt Disney World in September, and was wondering how many actual professional photo locations there is. We will have our grandkids,so resturants will probably be a no go,just trying to determine if the amount, justify the cost.

Hi there, Dennis! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I’m so glad you found us with your question. It sounds like you are planning an incredible trip with your grandchildren this fall. Oh, the memories you will make together! I am so very excited for you and your loved ones.

When it comes to PhotoPass locations, there is not an official number that I am aware of, but the unofficial count is 100+ locations across all the Disney Theme Parks. There will be no shortage of wonderful opportunities to capture these moments with your grandchildren. When you do come across a PhotoPass photographer, be sure to ask for Magic Shots for a little extra pixie dust, and be on the lookout for the Tiny World and Super Zoom Magic Shot photos at Magic Kingdom Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Plus, if you plan to explore Disney Springs (which I highly recommend that you do!), there is Disney's PhotoPass Studio which can capture the perfect family portraits for you to commemorate this special trip! So I would definitely recommend that you purchase Memory Maker so you have access to all your PhotoPass downloads after your vacation, and you can make those special memories live on forever! Pro tip: If you purchase it in advance of your vacation, there is a discount!

Now, I’d be remiss if I didn’t make a comment on your statement regarding dining out with your grandchildren. While visiting Walt Disney World Resort, you’ll actually notice that there are very few places where children cannot dine, and that at most restaurants, there will be children everywhere you look! Nobody would think twice about you dining with lots of little ones, because chances are they’ll be doing the same thing themselves all around you! I definitely recommend that you make some Dining Reservations, and consider including a Character Dining Experience that is sure to thrill your grandchildren, such as The Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom Park or Chef Mickey’s at the Contemporary Resort! Dining Reservations can be made 180 days in advance of your stay, and FastPass+ selections at 60 days prior to your vacation if staying at a Disney Resort Hotel, or 30 days if staying off property.

Well Dennis, I hope this information is helpful to you as you continue to make magical plans for your very lucky and very cherished grandchildren! I know that you are all going to cherish this time together for years to come. Please do not hesitate to come back to see us if we can be of any more help to you in the future!

    See ya real soon!
