Hi Moms! Planning our 3rd trip thanks to you, need advice. My girls have a dance comp at The Peabody July 2-6th. Would it be unrealistic to stay onsight and travel back and forth? I know its busy! If not, where should we stay? 2 adults, 3 children, 1 inf.

    Hi Jennifer-Raye,

If you are referring to the Peabody Auditorium in Daytona Beach, you're going to need to set aside 2 hours to get from Walt Disney World to your destination every time you make the trip.  If you plan to make that round trip, you are talking about four hours in the car daily.  I've made the drive between Daytona Beach and Orlando several times.  It's a pleasant drive but you're going to have to decide whether you want to spend that much of your vacation in the car.  If your infant doesn't travel well for long car trips or if you think your daughters might get too tired from the dance competition to make this journey daily, you might want to look at hotels in the Daytona area instead.  I've always enjoyed staying at the Hilton in Daytona Beach.  Perhaps you'd like to check that resort out online.

Of course, I'm always a fan of staying at Walt Disney World.  If you need only travel back and forth once or twice during your vacation, I'd definitely stay on Disney property.  However, if the dance competition requires that you be in Daytona Beach daily, I'd stay closer to the Peabody Auditorium.

    Good luck making your decision.
