Planning a trip over spring break 2012. Trying to decide between Poly and new princess rooms at POR. Traveling with DD's 11 and 4. DD 4 loves princesses! Is the Poly worth the xtra $ or should we go with POR? Thanks. The panel is terrific! :)

    Hi Jennifer!

The new Royal Guest Rooms at Disney's Port Orleans - Riverside are fit for a Princess! They're currently under renovation and should begin opening in March 2012. Due to these updates, limited bookings will be available until fully completed. Riverside is a great resort with fun recreational activities, and the added plus of a boat to Downtown Disney. Bus transportation is provided to the other Disney parks.

Given that you're vacationing for spring break, one of the busier seasons at WDW, I feel that the location & transportation benefits gained at The Polynesian are worth every bit of the extra rate, if within your budget. You've got the monorail to whisk you into Magic Kingdom as well as a second option to travel there by boat. Getting to Epcot is a breeze - just walk down the pathway to the Transportation & Ticket Center and hop onto the Epcot monorail. Transportation to the other parks, waterparks & Downtown Disney are by bus. Rooms here include a patio or balcony and are almost 100 sq ft larger than those of moderate resorts.

As far as Princesses go, you've got some great options close by. One monorail stop away is the Grand Floridian Resort where you'll find 1900 Park Fare - home of Cinderella's Happily Ever After Dinner. Several other fantastic choices for great 'regal' involvement for your Tiny Princess are Akershus Royal Banquet Hall at Epcot's Norway Pavillion (I find breakfast to be the best meal of the day there for kid-friendly dining) where many Disney Princesses visit your table side, or have your little one partake in a Princess transformation at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique's Magic Kingdom or Downtown Disney locations. Call (407) WDW-DINE to reserve any of these great, Princess opportunities.

Please don't hesitate to contact me again Jennifer if I can help you any further with your decision as I've run out of room.

    Wishing you a Magical vacation!
