    Josh from Cornwall Asked

We are planning a trip in September 2020. My wife and I want to upgrade to a deluxe dining plan. However, we have one person in our party who really does not eat very much. If I call up is it possible to upgrade him to standard Disney dining and us deluxe?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Josh!

I'm so glad you've come here to talk about one of my favorite things at Walt Disney World Resort: the food. Honestly, trying new food is one of the reasons that we can't stay away and we keep coming back every chance we get. That's why we love the Disney Dining Plan so much! It has really allowed us to branch out and try a lot of new things that we wouldn't have considered before, and it sounds like you and your wife want to do the same thing and upgrading to the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan would be a great way to do that.

When you book your vacation package, everyone who is on your reservation must be on the same Dining Plan, so there isn't a way for you to change just your Dining Plan without changing everyone else's. The good news is that if you do decide to change and go for the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan, there are lots of tips and tricks for you to get the most out of it even if you're traveling with someone who doesn't eat very much. Everyone in the same room shares the same pool of Dining Plan credits, and they can be used at any time during your stay by anyone on the reservation who wants to use them. You can redeem some of those extra credits to try some signature dining locations including some of my favorites, like Narcoossee's at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa or Jiko - The Cooking Place at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. Remember that a Meal credit is good for either a Quick-Service meal or a Table-Service meal, so it doesn't have to be a big three-course feast every time if you don't want it to be.

I hope this answers your question, Josh, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation!
