Hi. Planning our 2nd trip and it's possible the grandparents would join our family of 3 for a portion of it Say 4 of the 7 nights for example. How do we handle DDP? I assume we'll each just buy park tickets for our duration but confused on DDP. Thanks!

    Hi David,

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It's wonderful to hear the grandparents will join in on the fun. Disney Dining Plans are assigned to the guest room, not the entire party. For instance, your guest room will provide dining plan entitlements for the number of nights booked. If you have 3 in your room (2 adults, 1 child age 3-9, for example) and you're staying 7 nights, each of you will have 7 table service credits, 7 quick service credits, 7 snack credits and a resort refillable mug.

If the grandparents arrive mid-week in their own guest room, they can either add the dining plan or not. If they do, they'll each have credits assigned to them based on the number of reservation nights. If they do not add the plan, they'll simply pay out of pocket at each meal.

Book your Advance Dining Reservations for the total number dining. The server will divvy up the checks based on who is utilizing dining plan credits. It will work very easily and the servers are well versed with splitting checks based on who is participating on the DDP.

Let me know if you have further questions, David. I'm happy to help.
