We are planning a trip in October/November 2019. We've already been there for Halloween...but when are the parks turned over and decorated for Christmas?

    Hi Ellen,

It is truly magical to see Magic Kingdom Park transformed from a haven for happy haunts to a festive winter wonderland. One never knows exactly when the elves will sneak into Magic Kingdom Park to decorate for Christmas. However, experience has taught us that the elves will work their magic sometime between the last Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and the first Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.

This year, the last Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will be held on October 31st. The first Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is scheduled for November 8th. That means that Magic Kingdom Park will definitely be all decked out for the winter holidays by November 8th. It sounds like the transformation from Halloween to Christmas will happen the first week of November. The Walt Disney World Resort hotels and other theme parks will be transformed on a similar schedule. At the top of my personal Disney bucket list is to sit with a cup of hot cocoa in the lobby of Disney's Wilderness Lodge the night they construct their mammoth and stunning Christmas tree. Have you ever seen it? It's definitely worth the trip to check it out during your vacation.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that you'll be able to see Magic Kingdom Park and the rest of Walt Disney World Resort all decked out for Christmas.

    Best wishes,
    Jill
