Hi Moms! Planning trip for Nov '16 and just learned we're pregnant with our 1st child!!!! Baby will be about 3 months old. I've been to WDW several times the last few years, but this will be a TOTALLY new experience. Can I have lots of advice p

    Hi Wendy,

Congratulations on your wonderful news! How very exciting for you! Both of my children first visited Walt Disney World when they were small babies. Those trips are actually some of my favorite trips ever because having a small baby with us made us really slow down and enjoy the parks in a new way.

My biggest tip is to try to and stick to your schedule or routine as much as possible! We tried to keep our babies sleeping and eating as close to their normal times as we could. We didn't always return to the hotel for naptime, so having a good carrier and stroller were crucial.

Portable cribs are available in Walt Disney World hotel rooms at no additional charge. The resort will provide bedding for the portable crib, but we preferred to bring our bedding from home so it smelled familiar. We also brought along our sound machine so we could make our hotel room as much like home as possible.

Try to seek out some quiet spots in the parks, too. We loved finding a little bench off to the side where we could relax in the shade and people watch while my babies ate or slept. People watching became one of our favorite "attractions". Epcot was our favorite park when we traveled with the babies. Strolling around World Showcase and sampling delicious food and drinks was the perfect way to slow down and enjoy our time (and the exhibits provided respite from the sun and heat.)

Take advantage of the Baby Care Centers in each park! Each Baby Care center has quiet rooms for nursing/feeding and changing facilities. They're a great spot to escape the crowds (and heat) for a while. They also sell any diapering or feeding items you may need.

I could go on and on about taking babies to Walt Disney World. I guarantee it'll be your favorite vacation yet. Please let me know if you have any other questions, Wendy.
