We are planning a trip Nov 5, 2012 with 6 days at WDW and 4 days Cruise with my husband and 2 boys (12yr and 13yr). My question is with a husband that is disabled will that be enough time at the parks? He can not walk long distance.

    Hi, Teresa!

I think you have a fabulous vacation planned for you and your family, and I do think six days at the parks is sufficient time. Traveling with my mom over the years with mobility disabilities, I recommend staying at a resort which is conveniently located near the parks -- such as one of the monorail resorts or one of the ones in the Boardwalk Area.

There is much distance to cover -- not only in the parks but in the resorts themselves.  Oftentimes, just the walk from the room to transportation can be taxing. I suggest looking into renting a wheelchair for the week (either through an Orlando company or bringing one from home). Or, you can decide to rent one from a park if the walking gets too much for your husband while you're there.

On board the ship, it's like being in a large hotel with lots of opportunity to stop and rest.  Therefore, he may not tire there as easily.  In ports, you may consider the need to rent a wheelchair. I hope that helps you plan. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
