Hello Laurie! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
I tip my hat to your advanced planning for your Walt Disney World Resort vacation. With 2 toddlers in the mix, you are wise to figure out planning tools, like
Rider Switch Service, before you arrive.
When I first read your inquiry, my assumption was that Rider Switch Service was unavailable during
Extra Magic Hours as the
FastPass+ service is closed for those times. However, upon checking with a Cast Member for clarification, I'm pleased to tell you that the Rider Switch Service is not only available during Extra Magic Hours, it utilizes the lighter FastPass+ queues when your second party returns for the experience meaning an even smoother transition.
One of the reasons I love being a part of the
Disney Parks Moms Panel is how inquiries like yours, help benefit my future visits to Walt Disney World Resort. I would never have thought of using Rider Switch Service during Extra Magic Hours but doing do may be the best time to take advantage of rides that little ones cannot experience, like
Avatar Flight of Passage and
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.
Remember that some attractions allow Guests to wait in an area around the attraction and this is perfect time for younger children to experience rides older kids may not be interested in.
Happy Bypassing!
