We are planning a trip in May 2011 with S4 & S5, do we really have to "plan" every minute of the day, or can we just get to the parks and figure it out then? I've never been really good at planning vacations, and this seems like a lot of work

    Hey Krista!

You don't have to plan every minute!

I do suggest that if you want to do any Character Dining for your children or other special meals that you get ADRs (Advanced Dining Reservations) for those meals.  Because those dining experiences can end up fully booked and they don't even have room for walk ins!  That's for the 'table service' meals, now the 'counter service' locations you can always walk up to!

Check out this link to Disney Dining and you can browse through some of the restaurants, dinner shows and Character dining easily.  You can make this a fun activity by looking at them with the whole family! You can then book online or by calling 180 days in advance of your vacation days.

My family is the more laid back Disney goers and we don't schedule beyond what table service meals we really want to have. Once we have our dining reservations we relax and go with the flow. I'm a firm believer that you don't have to do every single experience in the Parks to have a fabulous Disney vacation.  Some people do full itineraries down to what order they will go on rides, but we are happy to amble and enjoy the Disney magic at our leisure.

I hope you and your family have a fabulous and relaxed time in Disney! Please let us know if we can help with any other questions!
