Hi , We are planning for a trip in late november 2014 for our daughter's FIRST birthday. we are planning to stay in finding nemo suite. is there any advice on how to celebrate her birthday and make it special ? thank you

    Hi Hima Bindu:

There is no better place to celebrate a birthday or plan a special vacation than at Walt Disney World. The first thing to do is pick up a birthday button at City Hall at Magic Kingdom or at Guest Relations at the other parks.  Many Cast Members will go out of their way to greet your daughter with special attention to make the day more memorable.  Here are some more ideas to make the visit extra special

    • Arrange a special character meal, like at Chef Mickey's, where your daughter can meet her favorite characters in a party atmosphere.
    • If you are staying on property, let the Cast Members know at check-in that it's your daughter's birthday. It's possible the front desk may be able to help arrange some Disney magic.
    • Contact the Dream Makers at Disney Floral and Gifts at (407) WDW-GIFT or (407) 939-4438. If you are staying on property, they can help create a personalized in-room celebration.
    •  If you are interested, many Disney restaurants carry a "Celebrate Today" cake in chocolate or vanilla that can serve up to five.  Simply order the cake when you check in at the restaurant front podium.  Prices are subject to change, but the cake generally costs about $21.00.  If you would like to order a larger customized cake, call the cake hotline in advance at 407-827-2253.  Prices will vary depending on size and customization.
    • Buy your daughter a balloon on Main Street

    Enjoy your vacation.
