hi, planning a trip in last week of jan, with 12 and 10 yr olds. first ever trip to disney, need suggestions on packing, what type of clothes , do we need a jacket, rain wear. any tips on planning our park trips would be appreciated, staying for 4 nights.

    Hi Sarah!

The weather in January can be very unpredictable.  You should definitely pack clothes that can be worn in layers.  I have been there in January where you definitely needed a jacket during the day and I have been there when you could walk around in shorts and a t-shirt.  In the evening, you definitely will want a jacket.

I would suggest bringing a small to medium sized backpack with you into the parks.  You can carry a backpack on all of the rides at Walt Disney World.  That includes the roller coasters; just put the backpack on the floor and put your foot through it if necessary.

I would definitely pack an umbrella, hats, sunscreen, and a camera,.

I would also pack swim suits.  The main pools at Walt Disney World are all heated and many guests enjoy swimming in January.  You can even visit one of the water parks as it too will be heated.

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
