Planning a trip in June for one of the Star Wars weekends. Have an 8 year old that loves Star Wars and wondered what helpful ideas you may have for the Jedi Training and meet and greets?

    Hi Matt ~

I feel the force is strong with your 8 year old. We're big Star Wars fans and love attending Star Wars Weekends (SWW) at Disney's Hollywood Studios (DHS). We always focus on just the special Star Wars events those days.

Jedi Training Academy is always a must do for young Padawans and beyond popular during SWW. Arriving as soon as the park opens and heading straight over to register is key to help ensure a spot for the day. Here is how and where to register for Jedi Training Academy.

For Celebrity Autograph Sessions, you will need a FASTPASS (FP). FP for autographs are distributed at DHS Main Entrance to the right of the turnstiles. Distribution may begin prior to park opening based on demand but we saw people line up very early. Here's some other info:

    * Your Theme Park admission ticket allows you to receive one FP ticket. A limited number available and are distributed on a first-come basis.
    * Last year they gave you a wristband and a FP - both were required to receive an autograph.
    * Only one FP is allowed per person. Each Guest must be present to receive a FP ticket. You may not get FP tickets for other members of your party.
    * At your designated time, return to the Celebrity Autograph Locations set up along Echo Lake.
    * Guests may not save a place for other party members to arrive later.

You'll also find lots of other Star Wars Character Encounters. Many of them sign autographs but you will not need a FP for those lines. As you enter DHS, be sure to pick up a special SWW Guide which is separate from the DHS Guide Map. If you head over to Darth's Mall early, you may be able to catch C-3PO and R2-D2 together.

I'm limited in space but please feel free to visit with any other questions. I'm hEAR for you!
