Planning a trip for 5 in June. We normally book an early (8:00) character meal daily, some at other resorts. Any suggestions for the best moderate resort to stay at? 3 adults and 2 kids ages 6 and 8. Thank you

    Hi Susan,

If all five of you wish to stay in one hotel room, then the Alligator Bayou section of Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside is your best bet.  This resort is centrally located on Walt Disney World property so it would be relatively quick and easy to get to any Disney resort or theme park from Riverside.  If you want a little more space in a moderate resort that is a bit more isolated, you could certainly book a cabin at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.

If, however, your group of five plans to split up into two adjacent rooms, then I wholeheartedly recommend Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter.  This is my favorite moderate Disney resort for several reasons.  Not only is the theming well-executed at this resort, but it is the smallest of the moderates by far.  That means less walking between your room and the amenities available at the resort.  Also, there is only one bus stop.  Therefore, you spend no extra time on your way to breakfast picking up guests at several stops within your own resort.  I stayed at French Quarter last June with a school group and I can't tell you how much time it saved us to have only one bus stop at our resort.  And, of course, there are beignets in the food court that you simply must try!  Yum!

Let us know, Susan, if you need any further information as you make your decision between resorts.  We'd be happy to help.
