I am planning a trip with my husband, daughter (2 yrs), and niece (5 yrs). For these ages, what value resort and moderate resort would you recommend most?

    Tabitha:

Thanks for coming to the Disney Mom's Panel!

Our family stayed at the All-Star Movies Resort when our middle child was four, and we ALL loved it.  There was nothing like seeing a 35-foot Buzz Lightyear!  With the ages of the girls in your family, I'd definitely go for All-Star Movies over the other Value resorts with buildings in themes of 101 Dalmatians, Toy Story, Mighty Ducks, Herbie: Love Bug, and Fantasia!

When it comes to the Moderates, I have to say it's all about the pools....each Moderate resort is spread out so bring your walking shoes and strollers!  For the age of your little ones, my vote would probably be cast for Caribbean Beach resort which offers a new "pirate ship" pool with zero-entry for your 2-year-old.  Several playgrounds dot the campus and many of the rooms sport a "Nemo" motif.  A close second would be Port Orleans: French Quarter.  It's the smallest of the Moderates and has some quaint views of the lagoon to Downtown Disney.  The pool slide and Mardi Gras theme brings the party from indoors to out.  Its leg up: the boat to Downtown Disney, a ride in itself for old and young alike!

    Wishing you a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Whitney, Mississippi

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
