We are planning a trip 12/12-12/17 2010. My husband, 2yo daughter, parents, in-laws. Love GF, and want it to be magical for everyone. 2 BR unavailable. For $$$, should we consider YC/BC or Boardwalk or go for GF for Christmas decor/experience?

Hi Lori! It's hard to find a more magical resort at the holidays than the Grand Floridian.  It's Disney World's flagship resort, and being such, it's also the most expensive resort.  I've found that when the Grand Floridian is not in my budget, the Yacht & Beach Club or Boardwalk Resorts are great substitutes at a lesser cost. The theming of these Epcot-area resorts is similarly luxurious and bright, and while they lack the Grand Floridian's proximity to the Magic Kingdom, they are conveniently close to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. While the Grand Floridian's holiday decorations include a life-size gingerbread house, at the Beach Club you'll find an equally amazing life-size edible spinning carousel.

My family frequently stays at the Yacht & Beach Club Resorts -- we really love both of them. Of course, one of the main draws for us is Stormalong Bay -- the massive swimming pool shared by both resorts. Although the pools at Disney are heated, if it happens to be quite chilly during your December trip, you may not want to spend much time poolside. I've visited Disney a few times during the week you're traveling there, and while some days are warm and pleasant, others have been downright cold. Personally, if I couldn't spend time at Stormalong Bay, I'd prefer to stay at the Grand Floridian. Other factors that would sway me toward the Grand Floridian would be the convenience of being on the monorail route, which would allow you to easily zip in and out of the Magic Kingdom with your two-year-old. If the two-bedroom suite you want is not available, consider booking two or three rooms instead, which would give everyone a little more privacy and may cost about the same or even less than the suite with some of the Special Offers available during the time of your visit.

You really can't go wrong with any of these resorts! Wishing you a magical trip!
