we are planning a trip fro dec 28th 2017 to jan 6th 2018 this is our first time staying on property and i am wondering how late the buses run back to the resorts. will we need to make our own arrangements if we are staying for fireworks

    Hi Eletha,

Not to worry! The free Walt Disney World transportation continues to run between the resorts and the theme parks for at least an hour after closing time, often longer if there are still guests who have lingered after the fireworks or other end-of-the night activity. You will find that many guests stay well past closing time to shop or wander.

My family tends to stick around as long as possible. We've never had an issue getting a bus, even well past closing time. On a couple of occasions, we've been among the very last out of one of the parks and have found that straggling guests like us have been grouped onto a bus that stopped at multiple resorts. But that was only when we left much after the appointed closing time.

If you move to the transportation hub within an hour of closing time, you should have no problems as all.

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Eletha. Please check back again if we can answer any other questions for you as you plan your holiday vacation. Enjoy!
