Hello, we are planning a trip to Florida in early December. We plan on stopping at Disney for just a day with our two children ages almost 2 and 5. Neither one of us have been there before. What do you recommend as the best activities to do with our kids?

    Hi Erica,

Oh, I am SO EXCITED to hear that you'll get to experience the magic of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation for the first time! I think your family is going to LOVE it! If you're going to spend one day at the most magical place on earth, I'd pick Magic Kingdom Park. It's the quintessential Disney experience, and you'll find so many amazing attractions, character greeting opportunities, and entertainment options to fill your day with magic and fun!

I'd suggest buying your tickets ahead of time and linking them to your My Disney Experience account. That way, you'll be able to make three FastPass+ selections in advance and skip the standby lines. On the day of your visit, I'd encourage you to arrive 45-60 minutes before the theme park opens so that you have plenty of time to go through security and ticketing before picking up a park map and times guide and making your way down Main Street U.S.A. for the exciting Let the Magic Begin welcome show.

With Mouseketeers your kiddos' ages, you'll definitely want to explore Fantasyland! My family likes to head there first while wait times are still short. There are MANY wonderful things to do there! Be sure to check out all of the fun attractions for kids of all ages in the other lands, too, though. Some of my family's favorites are Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover, and Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. I'd also consider the Festival of Fantasy Parade and Happily Ever After, the spectacular fireworks show, to be must-do's on any visit to Magic Kingdom Park! SO much fun!

Please let us know what other questions you have as you're planning your trip, Erica, and have a truly magical vacation with your family!
