We are planning a trip in Feb. and will taking advantage of the $500 gift card by staying at a Mod. Value Resort. My kids are 2,5,7 and not big eaters at all. Would it be more beneficial for us to skip the meal plan and use the gift card for meals?

    Hi Korrie!
It sounds like you received a great Walt Disney World promotional deal! The answer to your question depends a lot on what type of dining you plan to eat most of your meals at, either Counter Service or Table Service.

Remember dining prices are subject to change but here are some general food cost estimates:

Counter Service or Quick Service meals normally fall in the $6.00 to $12.00 range for kids (ages 3-9) and adults
Table Service or Sit Down meals normally fall in the $12.00 to $18.00 range for kids (ages 3-9) and the $30.00 to $80.00 range for adults

If your children do not eat much then using the $500 gift card sounds like a great strategy!

You can stretch your dining dollars by doing things such as:
    1. Have a simple breakfast in your room
    2. Utilizing a Breakfast Buffet Meal as a brunch and skipping lunch
    3. Order a double Cheeseburger Counter Service meal and an extra bun to make two meals out of one
    4. Spilt Table Service meals (You cannot do this with a Buffet type of meal)

I hope that you have a Magical trip with your family and eat some great food at Walt Disney World!

    Keep Dreaming Big!
