Planning a trip to DW w/my daughter who is 14. Problem is that she only eats VERY plain food... She won't eat most items on menu. Looking at kids menus it says under 9. How strict are they on this? Could I get a waiver?

    Hi, Mary!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I feel like you were explaining my 14-year-old son. His palate is super plain and I've stopped battling with him to explore new flavors. I figure he'll make a choice to discover delicious food someday when he doesn't live under my roof.

But I LOVE delicious food. So, when our family visits Walt Disney World Resort, we don't pick out our restaurant choices based on his plain food interests. To manage this challenge, he often looks at the menu and will customize an item to be much more simple. Or in some cases, he will ask if he can take advantage of the children's menu. That option is sometimes available when you talk to your waiter. Often, an older child can get a children's meal but with a larger size. If you visit a Quick Service restaurant, if you aren't using a Disney Dining Plan, it won't matter if an "adult" eater or a child orders a children's meal.

I hope that helps ease your mind before your visit to Walt Disney World Resort! Let me know if I can help answer any additional questions.
