We are planning a trip to DW from Sept 17-27. I've read that the parks are usually busier on days that have Magic Hours and it's best to avoid those parks on those days. Do you think that is true in Sept as well since it is a slower time of year?

Hey, Celise. It whiffs a little bit of the truth. Let investigate the origins of the smell in greater detail so you can make a decision with more complete information.

People staying on property tend to flock to the park with Extra Magic Hours in the morning. Not all of them work the clock to their advantage and they don't get there in time to realize the benefits of the full hour. If you can get to the park and enjoy the full hour free of non-Disney resort guests, then do it. If you can't get there in time, it likely will be close to normal operating time. The problem with showing up after the Extra Magic Hours has sailed is that you're coming into a park that has more people in it than usual, and you don't get a jump on anything.

So, if you can make it for the full morning Extra Magic Hour, do it. You can cover a lot of ground in that hour with a good touring plan (from TouringPlans.com.) Then, after the Extra Magic Hour, use the rest of the morning to hit more attractions (others will be waiting in line for attractions you've already experienced.) By midday, the park will be more crowded than a non-Extra Magic Hour morning. So, take a midday break and park hop to another park for the evening for a less crowded experience.
