I am planning a trip to DisneyWorld over Christmas 2016. We'd like to leave around the 27th or 28th for 7 or 8 days. I have 3 adult children (16, 18, 21), so we would need two rooms. How far in advance can i book and what resort would you suggest?

Hi, Cheryl!  I love Walt Disney World during Christmas, and I try to never miss a year of the holiday magic!

You can book resort rooms only 500 days in advance, so if you are going to add everything separately, you're good to go about a year and a half before you travel.  Packages are a bit trickier, and are usually available within a year of your vacation date.  This may vary from year to year, however, so it may take a little longer for package prices to become available.  You can, however, book your resort room and add the package later.

As for which resort - so many to choose from!  Are you trying to stay within a certain budget?  Would you be interested in a family suite?  They will come with two bathrooms and sleeping options for up to six people, as well as a small kitchenette.  You can find those at Disney's Art of Animation Resort and All Star Music.  Also, consider the type of resort you would like.  A moderate or deluxe resort will give you a table service restaurant and perhaps a lounge area to enjoy during your stay.  A value resort has just the food court to grab a bite to eat from.

My personal favorites would be Disney's Coronado Springs resort if you are looking for a moderate or for a lower priced deluxe resort, Disney's Wilderness Lodge.  If transportation is a priority, one of the deluxe monorail resorts (the Polynesian Village is one of my favorites) is your best bet.

Happy planning, and if there's anything more we can do to help make this your most magical vacation, come on back and see us!
