    Kevin from LA Asked

Planning a trip to Disneyland from New Orleans. Is it best to fly into Los Angeles (LAX) or Irvine (SNA)?

Hi, Kevin! Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
I am so glad you asked this question because I feel very strongly about this particular topic! If flight times and airfares are amenable, I 100 percent recommend flying into John Wayne Airport (SNA) in Orange County. Not only is this the closest airport to the Disneyland Resort, but the airport itself is small and really easy to navigate. In fact, each time I have flown into this airport, I have deplaned, grabbed my luggage from baggage claim, and was outside catching my transportation to the parks within 20 minutes. If possible, schedule your arrival and departure times outside of rush hour and you will breeze your way to the Disneyland Resort in about 20-30 minutes. (If you were to fly into LAX, you would need to allow for at least an hour of drive time to the parks, if not much more due to traffic.) Finally, it’s just as easy to fly back home through John Wayne Airport. I’ve never waited longer than 15 minutes in the security line here and once you are through security, you are just steps away from your gate.
In order to get to the Disneyland Resort from SNA, you have several transportation options including the Disneyland Resort Express, taxis, rental cars, or Lyft and Uber services. The Disneyland Resort Express picks up here every hour on the half-hour and has stops at all three Disneyland Resort Hotels and several Good Neighbor Hotels. Just keep in mind that the Disneyland Resort Express is operated by a third-party company and there is a fee to ride. I have also used Lyft in the past and have been very satisfied with the low price and quick service.
I hope this information was helpful! Please stop by the Disney Parks Moms Panel again with any other questions you may have!
