Hello, I am planning a trip to Disneyland/ Disney California December 2017 for my family of 3 and it will be my 3 yr. old daughter's first trip and her way of celebrating after open heart surgery. How can I ensure a magical first experience for her?

    Hello Desareh!

Thanks so much for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I hope you are having a magical week! I’m so sorry to hear your daughter needs such an intense surgery. Visiting Disneyland Resort after recovery will be a celebration for sure!

If your daughter will still have some medical needs, I would suggest talking to a Cast Member at Guest Relations upon your arrival at the parks to inquire about the Disability Access Service. This service helps guests who may have extra needs than that of a typical guest. Simply explain your situation and what would best help your daughter and they will give you some great advice and suggestions on how to maximize your time in the parks without any unneeded stress for your family or daughter.

My youngest has cognitive disabilities and this service has made our visits so much less stressful for everyone in our group. I love how Disney takes note of even the smallest details to help make our trips magical!

This card can be used throughout your visit, so you only have to visit Guest Relations on your first day. The Disability Access Service Card will also work in addition to the FASTPASS service, meaning you can utilize both.

I hope this helps and let me know if you have any other questions as you plan your visit!

    See you real soon!
