I am planning a trip to Disney World for October. There will be five adults and one six month old infant. I am wondering if rider swap will allow us to split our group 2 and 3? Or is it only for 2 adults and one non riding child?

Hello Carissa!  Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

The Rider Switch Service at Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks is a crucial tool for adult Guests wishing to experiencing attractions visiting with Guests who cannot or do not want to experience certain attractions.  The good news, is that with a little planning, no one will need to experience a ride or attraction by themselves when using the Rider Switch Service.

The short answer is that only 2 adults Guests can take advantage of a Rider Switch Pass.  This means that for your situation, 2 adults can wait with your 6-month old infant (Party 2) while the rest of your party experiences an attraction (Party 1).  After the first group finishes the attraction, Party 2 uses the Rider Switch Pass to bypass the regular Standby Queue for the attraction while Party 1 now waits with your child.  Splitting up into groups of 2 and 3 is acceptable as long as the group of 2 is a part of the party using the Rider Switch Pass upon their return.

Please note that the entire party must be present when initially greeting a Cast member at an attraction and asking for a Rider Switch Pass and that party 2 may be asked to wait in a designated area for the first  party to return.

When experiencing Walt Disney World Resort with young children, I find it crucial to have a solid plan and experience with the My Disney Experience App.  Whether organizing group FastPass+ selections, checking wait times for attractions or planning Advanced Dining Reservations on the move, the My Disney Experience App is essential in navigating all of the Endless Magic that Walt DIsney World Resort has to offer.

    Have a Magical Vacation!
